Prerequisites


Before you begin:

  • Snapchat Business account

  • Pixel ID from Snapchat Ads → Events Manager

  • GTM installed on your FatherShops store


Step 1: Add the Main Snapchat Pixel

  1. Log in to GTM → Go to Tags → Click New


  2. Click Tag Configuration → Choose Snap Pixel – GTM


  3. Set the following:

    • Pixel ID: your-pixel-id (e.g. 43c597a1-6a85-47a4-b8ad-614aee442946)

    • Event Type: PAGE_VIEW


  4. Trigger:

    • Choose All Pages

  5. Save and Publish the container


 This sends a PAGE_VIEW event on every page load.


? Step 2: Add Key Conversion Events


A. Track “Start Checkout”

  1. Go to TriggersNew

    • Name: Snap – Checkout Trigger

    • Trigger Type: Some DOM Ready Events

    • Condition:

      Page URL contains /checkout
  2. Tag Setup:

    • Name: Snap – START_CHECKOUT

    • Tag Type: Snap Pixel – GTM

    • Event Type: START_CHECKOUT

    • Trigger: Snap – Checkout Trigger


B. Track “Purchase”

  1. Trigger:

    • Name: Snap – Purchase Trigger

    • Type: DOM Ready

    • Condition:

  2. Tag:

    • Name: Snap – PURCHASE

    • Tag Type: Snap Pixel – GTM

    • Event Type: PURCHASE

    • Trigger: Snap – Purchase Trigger


Step 3: Testing & Validation

  1. Go to Snapchat Events ManagerTest Events

  2. Enter your website URL → Click “Open Website”

  3. Perform actions:

    • Go to checkout

    • Complete a purchase

  4. If working, events like START_CHECKOUT, and PURCHASE will appear in the live test feed.
